Good to know
Rounded corners need an alpha channel, so the output is always PNG (or WebP if that is what you started with) regardless of the input format. A JPG in, a PNG out — that is not a quirk, it is the only way for the corners to actually be transparent.
The radius is a percentage of the shorter side, which means the same setting looks consistent across images of different sizes. Push it to the maximum on a square image and you get a perfect circle, which is the usual way to make an avatar.
The clipping is anti-aliased, so the curve stays smooth rather than stair-stepped even at large sizes. If you need a square image to start from, crop to 1:1 first.
