Why these tools work differently
Uploading is the default
Almost every online image tool uploads your file to a server, processes it there and sends it back. That is fine for a holiday photo, and a strange thing to do with a passport scan or a screenshot of your bank account — which is exactly what people use these tools for, because upload forms demand very specific file sizes.
Imgnest never receives the file
Imgnest does the work in the browser instead. Canvas handles resizing and re-encoding, and WebAssembly runs the same compiled codecs a desktop application would use. Your file is read from disk by the page, processed in memory, and written back out as a download. It never travels anywhere — you can load a tool, disconnect from the internet, and it keeps working.
Nothing to ration
Because processing costs us nothing, there is also nothing to ration: no queues, no daily caps, no batch limits and no watermarks on your results.
