Convert PNG to JPG
Convert PNG files into much lighter JPG images, ideal for email, websites and forms. Transparency is filled with a white background, and nothing is ever uploaded.
100% private: files are processed in your browser and never uploaded to any server.
How it works
- Drop one or more PNG files into the box above.
- Each image is converted to JPG at high quality; transparency becomes white.
- Download the converted files — they are usually several times smaller.
Good to know
The saving here is often dramatic: a photographic PNG typically drops 60–90% when converted to a high-quality JPG, because PNG cannot use lossy compression and pays full price for every pixel of a photograph.
The trade-off is transparency. JPG has no alpha channel, so any transparent area is filled with white. If you need the transparency, convert to WebP instead, which supports both transparency and lossy compression.
Keep the PNG when the image is a screenshot, a logo or anything with sharp text: those have hard edges, and JPG smudges them. The rule is simple — photographs to JPG, graphics stay PNG.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with white. If you need to keep transparency, stay with PNG or use WebP.
How much smaller will my file be?
Photographic PNGs typically shrink by 60–90% when converted to JPG at high quality. Graphics with few colors shrink less and may look slightly softer.
Does converting reduce image quality?
JPG is lossy, but at the high quality level this tool uses the difference is invisible for most images. For pixel-perfect graphics, keep PNG.
Is there a file limit?
No. Convert as many PNGs as you want; everything runs on your device.
